A launch-focused checklist for redesigning a WordPress website without weakening search visibility, conversion paths, or CMS control.
A redesign should not erase search equity
Before changing layouts, collect the current URLs, sitemap, titles, descriptions, indexed pages, traffic pages, and conversion paths. A redesign that looks better but loses rankings, forms, or key pages is not a successful launch.
CMS control is part of SEO
WordPress works well when service pages, portfolio pages, metadata, schema, forms, and content updates can be managed without rebuilding the whole site. The CMS should support ongoing search work after launch.
Launch checks need to be practical
Check redirects, internal links, form delivery, mobile layout, speed, sitemap generation, robots.txt, schema, analytics, and Search Console submission. These basics reduce risk and create a cleaner growth baseline.
